Job Purpose
The main purpose of the Logistics Assistant is to work as part of the logistics team, managing all responsibilities related to supply, warehouses, and fleet, as well as the dispatching of goods. Logistics Assistant is responsible for ensuring quality in supply chain management support across the Ethiopia programme. Where appropriate, the logistics Assistant will provide support to field teams through assessment and accompaniment.
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential
- Bachelor (BA) or a degree from a recognised university/college in supply and logistics Management or any other areas that can bring added value to the post.
- Relevant Supply and logistics management experience of 2 years, in an INGO.
- Ability to adjust to constantly changing situations while maintaining focus on delivery and follow through, supply and logistics requirements.
- Able to work with little supervision, being innovative and using initiative to a good degree.
- Strong interpersonal skills, sensitivity to cultural differences, and ability to work in a wide variety of cultural contexts.
- Experience and training in supply and logistics management system software.
- Data management and reporting skills
- Competent in the use of computers and Microsoft Office applications, including word-processing (Word) and Excel.
- Sympathy with the aims and objectives of Oxfam
- Commitment to humanitarian principles and action
- Commitment to Oxfam’s equal opportunity and gender policies. Demonstrated experience of integrating gender and diversity issues into logistics programmes
Desirable
- Knowledge of the field of international development and human rights
- Is from zonal areas and knows local market and contexts.
