Accountabilities & Functional Responsibilities
Program Design, Implementation, and Evaluation
- Supports relevant departments, sub-delegations, and the Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) in designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating joint programs.
- Contributes to analyzing the context and humanitarian needs through regular contact with ERCS.
- Ensures proper coordination of ICRC and ERCS plans and activities under Movement Cooperation and ICRC operational departments.
Collaboration and Partnership
- Facilitates cooperation and mutual understanding between ICRC and ERCS in the field to strengthen their partnership.
- Strengthens ICRC coordination with ERCS and other Movement partners within the area of responsibility.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships and trust between ICRC and ERCS.
- Conducts periodic visits to ICRC sub-delegations and ERCS branches within the area of responsibility to foster regular coordination and ensure partnership modalities are understood and respected.
Capacity Building and Support
- Contributes to ERCS capacity strengthening (National Society development) and supports ERCS priorities in line with the partnership between the two institutions.
- Under the guidance of the Movement Cooperation Coordinator, supports ERCS in designing and implementing internal policies, systems, guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- In coordination with team members of the Movement Cooperation department and other ICRC departments, supports ERCS in emergency preparedness and response activities.
- Organizes and facilitates trainings, workshops, and seminars in Addis Ababa and in the field.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in international relations, Political Science, Law, Project Management, Business Administration, or equivalent qualification in a related field of study
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in Movement Cooperation or a similar field within or outside the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
- Excellent knowledge of English and Amharic; proficiency in other local languages is a strong asset.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, planning and reporting skills
- Computer proficiency especially in MS Office and qualitative data analysis.
