Purpose of the Position
In the context of the WHO Health Emergencies Programme, at the country level, recognizing that the greater percentage of the planned interventions under all the three pillars of the EPPR project are implemented by the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI), the AMR Surveillance system data entry clerk will assist sentinel sites in WHONET data entry, analysis, reporting and manipulation and submit daily AMR surveillance data to the National AMR surveillance system data base and work closely on regular basis with a member of AMR surveillance system coordination team at the EPHI and at the assigned sentinel site health facilities.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Essential:
- Secondary, technical or commercial school Certificate
Desirable:
- BSc degree in health sciences such as Nursing, Public Health, Laboratory technology with basic background in Statistics, Information Technology, computer science, or other related field of study is highly desirable.
Experience
Essential:
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience as data entry clerk or related in the health sector.
Desirable:
- More than 3 years of experience in AMR surveillance data entry or Health related surveillance system data management, especially WHONET software experience, will be an advantage
Functional Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to understand new data management software like WHONET
- Advanced level skill and knowledge in MS Excel and Office
- Effective communication, multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skill
- Team building skill and ability to work in a demanding environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of AMR surveillance system in Ethiopia coupled with skills of WHONET and Excel software packages in public health.
- Proven ability to multitask across various planning and implementation processes within a highly demanding environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge, competency, and professional skills of public health, infectious disease control, epidemic and pandemic preparedness, and response with particular attention to the context of the AMR as a silent pandemic.
