Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Master’s degree in a medical or public health–related discipline is required; the applicant must have a legal authorization to practice in South Sudan or another national authority;
- University degree in Medicine (MBChB/MD or equivalent) from an accredited university;
- Certification in formal training in occupational health, HIV care, and/or emergency preparedness or VCCT is desirable;
- Certification in Advanced Trauma Life support, Advanced cardiac Life support OR Prehospital trauma life support is required.
Experience
- At least two (02) years (combined with the Master’s degree) or Four (04) years (combined with a Bachelor’s degree of progressive, practical experience in General Medicine in developing countries or countries in conflict): of these two (2) years, at least one (1) year must be in the fields of Trauma and Emergency Care and one (1) year in Internal Medicine;
- Experience supporting workplace wellness and health promotion programmes, including planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of staff health awareness initiatives, in line with UN Cares and UN Plus frameworks, is required;
- Experience in Surgical, ICU, aeromedical or anesthetic experience is an advantage;
- Experience in tropical medicine relevant to Sub-Saharan Africa or similar contexts is required;
- Experience in the use of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, and related applications), including Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems is desirable;
- Previous medical experience in the UN medical system or international NGOs at the national or international level is desirable.
Language Requirements
- Proficiency in English is required;
- Knowledge of Arabic language highly desirable.
