The Opportunity
The position holder provides comprehensive technical support to implementation of the child protection policy and related programs within the Program Area (PA) and/or refugee camp. keep strong support and linkages with Harmful Traditional Practices (HTP) initiatives (who works on Early marriage) and other emergency response programs across the PA the role holder is accountable for delivering results aligned with agreed program plans and objectives, while overseeing the application of child protection policies at the PA level. by doing so, the position contributes to the broader goal of strengthening protection mechanisms and promoting positive community practices that prevent harmful traditional practices and violence against children. Plan International Ethiopia has established a child protection policy that all staff members are required to sign and uphold.
Qualifications & Requirements
- BA degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, Development studies and other related fields.
- A minimum of 3 years of humanitarian aid experience applied in emergency/recovery response operations in focus on child protection and youth program
- Excellent knowledge of Child Protection and GBV minimum standards and basic principles; Good knowledge of GBV, Child Protection case management, CPIMS and MHPSS.
- Excellent knowledge of basic child protection & youth principles, child & adult development & learning, and CFS.
- Good knowledge of donor grants and contract regulations ECHO & UN agencies.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent written, verbal communication skills in English and local language.
- Proposal and report writing skills.
