Your Main Duties and Responsibilities will be
- Provide ongoing technical guidance and mentorship on GBV case management principles, the Inter-Agency GBV Case Management Guidelines, and survivor-centered approaches.
- Promote staff well-being by fostering a supportive environment and facilitating reflective practices or debriefings as needed.
- Support supervision, review, and quality assurance of GBV case management services, ensuring proper documentation, confidentiality, and adherence to standards.
- Facilitate team learning and peer support through meetings, case discussions, or coordination sessions.
- Conduct regular assessments to identify strengths and gaps in GBV response capacity and develop action plans to address learning or performance needs.
- Monitor the quality and consistency of data collection, reporting, and data protection protocols.
- Deliver training, coaching, and on-the-job support to staff and volunteers involved in GBV case management, prevention, and response activities.
- Provide direct support for complex, high-risk, or sensitive GBV cases where additional intervention is required.
- Ensure all interventions uphold the safety, dignity, and confidentiality of survivors, following best practices in survivor-centered response.
- Support GBV prevention activities, including awareness-raising, community engagement, and coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Undertake any other GBV or protection-related tasks as assigned by the Emergency Manager, including assessments, coordination, reporting, or community-based activities.
- Support the prevention and mitigation of GBV by engaging with communities, local stakeholders, and partners to raise awareness, strengthen referral pathways, and promote survivor-centered response mechanisms.
- Contribute to capacity building of local actors and partners in GBV prevention and response, while representing the organization in coordination forums and strengthening collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- University degree in social work, social science, law or other relevant field from a recognized institution.
Experience and Technical Competencies
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in GBV prevention and response, including case management, community-based activities, and coordination, preferably with an international humanitarian organization.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work in complex and difficult circumstances.
- Field experience in emergency context is highly desirable
- High level of personal initiative, analytical skills and pro-active problem solving.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain working relationships across the organization.
- Be a team player
- Cultural sensitivity, and commitment and understanding of the values of DRC. Good communication skills.
- Commitment to learning and implementing organizational policies and procedures
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- A sensitive approach to external representation
Language
- Good proficiency in written and spoken English, and the local language.
