Job Summary
As a lead for the Strengthening Capacities for Peace and Reconciliation project team, you will facilitate the achievement of project objectives through coordinating and reporting on all project activities and providing technical guidance and advice to staff and implementing partner(s) advancing Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work serving the poor and vulnerable. Your coordination and relationship management skills will ensure that the project for which you are responsible applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Required Languages- Fluent in oral and written English, Amharic as well as local language (either Af’Somali or Afaan Oromo) required.
- Travel- Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% to project operation areas
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Analysis and problem-solving skills with ability to make sound judgment
- Good relationship management skills and the ability to work closely with local partners
- Proactive, results-oriented and service-oriented
- Attention to details, accuracy and timeliness in executing assigned responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with partners, participatory action planning and community engagement.
- Proven experience in project administration, planning, and implementation.
- Strong understanding of peace-building principles, conflict analysis frameworks, and reconciliation approaches.
- Demonstrated ability to document success stories, lessons learned, and best practices to support knowledge sharing and organizational learning.
- Experience in designing and facilitating workshops, seminars, and dialogue processes.
- Excellent report‑writing skills, with strong written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in Afan Oromo and/or Afe Somali is required.
- Deep knowledge of the local context, including customs, inter‑community relations, clan dynamics, and local political, social, and economic environments.
- Experience and passion for empowering and supporting youth and women, with the ability to provide effective accompaniment to ensure quality implementation of their action plans.
- Ability to engage sensitively and respectfully with diverse groups.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to deliver results with minimal supervision.
- Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
