Qualifications & Requirements
- Post-graduate degree in Disaster Risk Management, Public Policy, Environmental Science, Development Studies, or related fields is required. Experience in the Horn of Africa region is preferable.
- Technical expertise in disaster risk management, early warning systems, and/or climate and multi-hazard preparedness, preferably in low- and middle-income country contexts.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in strategic communications, advocacy, or policy engagement.
- Proven experience in developing advocacy, outreach, or communication strategies for government-led or multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Knowledge of global instruments, Africa regional strategies, plans, and experiences related to Disaster Risk Management and Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems and recent development in the field.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct high-standard complex stakeholder analysis and communication needs assessments.
- Experience working with government institutions and diverse stakeholders at national and sub national levels.
- Strong skills in costed implementation planning and results-oriented strategy design.
- Excellent analytical, facilitation, and writing skills.
- Proficiency in English language is required.
