Overall Purpose of the Role

The support service officer is responsible for the efficient management of the financial, administrative, HR, supply chain and premises/ warehouse support functions at the field level. S/he ensures compliance with DRC’s policies and procedures and supports the ER Manager in strengthening internal controls and accountability. The role will support both emergency response and longer-term operations in Humera field office and Gondar.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • University degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or other related fields EORE qualification.

Experience and Technical Competencies

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in finance, admin, and HR roles, preferably in an NGO or emergency setting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., DYN) and high proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Solid understanding of Ethiopian labor law and administrative procedures.
  • Experience with HR practices, staff coordination, and logistics is desirable.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to multitask under pressure.

Language

  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Proficiency in Amharic is required and knowledge of Tigrigna is added value.
